TABS utilises the large thermal mass of concrete building structures as a buffer for the changing cooling or heating loads during the day. It does this by running hot or cold water through pipes within the slab.
TABS is proving itself as an efficient low energy cooling system on various BREEAM "Excellent" and "Very Good", and Passivhaus certified projects across the UK.
Beyond the REHAU PE-Xa pipe, the EVERLOC jointing system plays a central role. Over 850 million fittings have been installed worldwide, our jointing system consists of only 2 components; a compression sleeve and fitting.
Benefits
Thermally activated building structures
- Low investment and operating costs
- "Gentle cooling" without draft effects
- Reduced air exchange in combination with ventilation systems
- No sick building syndrome
- Use of alternative energy sources
- Low flow temperatures
- Easy pipe installation
Applications:
- Offices
- Hospitals
- Retail
- Museums / galleries
- Transport hubs / stations
- Sports centres / arena
Industrial panel heating system
Zero maintenance; inexpensive to operate
RAUTHERM S pipes installed under the floor emit large quantities of radiant heat while keeping the temperature down, reducing operating costs. Our system, which can be supplied as industrial radiant heating in reinforced concrete and in steel fibre-reinforced concrete, is also suited for use with renewable energy sources or recovering waste heat.
Benefits
- Balanced and moderate temperature profile
- Optimum hall utilisation due to freedom of space
- Low operating costs
- No maintenance costs
Underfloor heating in sports halls
Temperature-controlled sports flooring
Most sports hall floors are used for a variety of different activities and are required to meet a large number
of competing and sometimes conflicting demands.
There are four main classifications of floor types used in sports halls:
- Area elastic
- Combined elastic
- Mixed elastic
- Point elastic
Benefits
- Allows for subsequent renovation of your floor with no need to dismantle your existing underfloor heating system, as the swinging underfloor construction and underfloor heating are separate
- Quick and easy to install thanks to pre-punched insulation and flexible RAUTHERM S or RAUTHERM SPEED pipes
- Air temperatures remain more consistent, unlike other systems heat will not accumulate at the ceiling and thermal comfort in the occupied areas.
- There is also the added benefit of freeing up ceiling space to optimise daylight.
Outdoor sub-surface heating
Free of snow and ice even in cold weather
With sub-surface heating, areas such as driveways, ramps, helipads and more can be kept free of snow and ice, without the need for gritting.
Heating and cooling are both possible with geothermal energy.
Benefits
- Permanent availability of infrastructure
- Reduction in life-cycle costs (investment = depreciation, maintenance, repairs, energy)
- CO2 savings through avoidance of winter road clearance and increased turnover in outdoor areas
- Groundwater protection and cost reductions by cutting the use of road salt
- Heating and cooling both possible with geothermal energy
- Significantly lower thermal loads on bridge support structures = lower investment costs
Pitch heating
The world-leading system
Our success speaks for itself. Thanks to our technology, more than 400 stadiums and training pitches worldwide can now be used all year round, whatever the elements throw at them.
Benefits
- For real and artificial grass
- Just-in-time delivery
- Quick and easy to install
- Property-specific pack lengths, no leftover lengths
- Precision pipe fixing thanks to the RAILFIX system for even heating of playing surfaces
- Pre-insulated Tichelmann manifold system to reduce heat loss
