NEA SMART 2.0 is a modern and effective control system for radiant heating and cooling systems with a wide range of functions. The system can be conveniently operated using a smartphone, tablet or PC at home or when the user is away from home via a LAN/wireless interface integrated into the central base as standard. Connecting the system to the cloud allows the user to enjoy optimisation, analysis and remote maintenance functions.

The basic function of the system is to heat the rooms conveniently and economically according to your wishes. Depending on the installed system, however, many other functions are available:

• Control the optimum temperature for the supply of the heating/cooling areas (“flow temperature control”)
• Dehumidification in the rooms

The room temperature target values – for heating and cooling – can be switched between a comfort temperature (normal operation) and an eco temperature (reduced operation) using time programmes and app functions.

You can operate the system in the following way:

• directly via the room unit (setting the desired temperature, changing the operating mode) and either
• via the browser of your smartphone, tablet or PC (integrated web pages can only be used iside your home) or
• via the cloud using the NEA SMART 2.0 app 

The NEA SMART 2.0 app is not only easy and convenient to use, but it also offers many features that make the system a truly smart system.

The individual room control system allows the room temperature to be set specifically for each room. A room control unit controls the valves of the respective heating circuit. The use of an individual room control system is now required in Germany by the Energy Saving Ordinance (EnEV).

Yes, NEA SMART 2.0 can also be used in existing buildings. The wireless version of the room control unit is ideal here, as no cables need to be installed between the room control unit and the central base. This saves chiselling and plastering work.

But even existing wired control technology can be replaced by NEA SMART 2.0. In most cases, existing lines of a control system that is to be replaced can be used without any problems.

No matter where you are, the NEA SMART 2.0 app offers you a wide range of options for operating and monitoring your system.

You can:

• Assign names to the rooms and set the desired temperatures
• Create time programmes for the desired temperatures and assign them to the rooms
• Select the operating modes “normal mode" and “reduced mode” for all rooms or individual rooms
• Use the holiday function
• Automatically save energy when nobody is at home
• Switch between heating mode and cooling mode
• View evaluations and statistics
• Receive notes regarding upcoming maintenance work

The app currently supports smartphones with Android operating systems from 4.1 or iOS from 9. The latest version of the app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).

NEA SMART 2.0 can also be used as an individual room control unit without an Internet connection. The basic functions required for this are provided. However, the full range of functions, such as the smart functions and operation via the app, is only available when the NEA SMART 2.0 system is connected to the internet.

The central NEA SMART 2.0 base has a LAN and WLAN interface as standard for connecting to the internet.

NEA SMART 2.0 is offered and installed by specialised HVAC companies.

NEA SMART 2.0 can also be integrated into smart home systems via Alexa voice control.

The illuminated frame has the following functions:

• Confirmation of input values
• Subtle backlighting, e.g. for orientation or as a baby light

Thanks to geo-fencing, the NEA SMART 2.0 base receives the location of your smartphone. The heating is then automatically turned down when all residents have left and heated up again in good time before the first one returns home. Location-dependent control can therefore also provide additional savings for surface heating/cooling.

In principle, the NEA SMART 2.0 individual room control system can be combined with any water-bearing surface heating/cooling system. Underfloor heating systems in existing buildings can also be retrofitted. However, it should be noted that the NEA SMART 2.0 control technology system is self-contained. This means that a combination with control components from other systems/manufacturers is not possible.

The NEA SMART 2.0 system enables energy savings of up to 20% because the very precise and intelligent control effectively prevents oversupply, thus eliminating unnecessary energy consumption. For example, the window-open detection system notices a sudden drop in room temperature when a window is opened, and temporarily switches the heating off to save energy. NEA SMART 2.0 uses geo-fencing technology and only heats your rooms when you’re actually at home or on your way there.

Systems which are connected to the cloud via the Internet receive the latest version of the software without requiring intervention from the user.

The protection of user data is a top priority for REHAU. The legal requirements for the protection of personal data are observed. All relevant communication channels are encrypted, as is the user's personal data on the server. Access authorisation for the app and the data it contains is checked by a REHAU service set up specifically for that purpose.
