PP-R delivers for a new science and tech hub

For this project Mibec were contacted to support implementing a district energy system for Peterhouse Technology Park, a new science and tech hub in Cambridgeshire. 

The customer required pre-insulated pipes to distribute chilled water (CHW) and low-temperature hot water (LTHW). The primary objective was to ensure efficient thermal energy transfer while minimising heat losses and maintaining system reliability over long distances. 

The Mibec team found it straightforward to identify REHAU's PP-R pipe as a suitable large-diameter solution with effective thermal insulation over long pipe runs. 

PP-R pre-insulated pipes are a reliable and sustainable solution for modern systems, offering superior performance and longevity. These pipes are highly corrosion resistant, scaling and chemical degradation, ensuring long service life.
